Top 10 CS2 Steam Workshop Skins That Deserve a Spot in the Next Update

July 6 brings an update that kicks off a new Premier season — which means fresh ratings rolling back into matchmaking, a rank reset, and the familiar grind back through your calibration matches. But the competitive side isn’t the only reason we’re waiting on this patch. Alongside it, the collections in The Armory Pass will most likely finally rotate — the very shuffle the community has been waiting on since April. The new sets are essentially already known, but Valve do love to surprise us: something extra could still slip into the update (the Cache 2026 collection, for one).

And while the official skins are still under wraps, we took a look at where half of CS2’s future arsenal is born — the Steam Workshop. We’ve rounded up 10 pieces that grab you with either a unique texture, a dynamic pattern, or just a bold, cheeky idea — and that we’d love to see make it into the game. Let’s dive in.

MP9 | MVP9

  • by votaymaN

A genuinely unusual piece with a texture CS2 simply hasn’t seen before. The top of the receiver mirrors the very pixel animation that plays on screen after a round win on the CT side — the author has essentially lifted a slice of the game’s UI straight onto the weapon. The rest of the design is pulled from recognizable CS2 details and lightly reworked, too. Add a sharp pun of a name (MVP + MP9) and you get a skin made for anyone who appreciates a bit of self-irony and nods to the game itself. A rare case where a skin like this about Counter-Strike is done with real taste.

Desert Eagle | XO

by Maje

“Don’t miss, just blow a kiss from across the map.” It looks like a “feminine” skin at first glance — but in reality this monochrome Desert Eagle would sit just as comfortably in a rugged, no-nonsense inventory. Black lipstick kiss-prints layer over one another on top of an industrial dark-gray body: from a distance it reads as understated graphite; up close, a cheeky metallic shine. Stylistically it lands somewhere between the legendary AWP | Graphite and Glock-18 | Dragon Tattoo, only with a more modern read. A nice bonus is the wear progression: from a clean Factory New, the finish gradually darkens to a rugged, “charred” tone at Battle-Scarred.

P2000 | Nightmarket

  • by KoksiS

A warm, cozy piece that whisks you off to a night market somewhere in Asia: red-orange lanterns “glow” with living flame, koi carp drift across the body, cherry blossoms bloom, and neon characters light up along the side. The P2000 is a pistol you don’t see on the server all that often, and truly worthy skins for it are scarce — so a solid themed design here is always worth its weight in gold. Nightmarket fits squarely into the niche of “atmospheric” Eastern skins and would look great in a collection with an Asian setting.

AWP | Inheritance

  • by Endrit

A piece inspired by traditional Chinese porcelain and Dutch Delft Blue. The blue-and-white palette with floral ornamentation is the kind the community fell for at first sight — just think back to how warmly a similar finish was received on the AK-47. On the AWP, though, there’s almost nothing in this porcelain blue-and-white scheme. The only comparable sniper is the wildly expensive AWP | Gungnir, which only a few can afford. It’s high time to close that gap with a beautiful — and far more accessible — alternative.

M4A1-S | Retro

  • by WetQa

Pure ’80s retro vibes: the skin is built from the aesthetic of VHS tapes, VCRs, and other odds and ends that were part of everyday life not so long ago. Striped “rainbow” accents, vintage typography, RETRO and 80’S lettering — it all hits the nostalgia nerve dead on. Retro consistently lands well in CS2, and the M4A1-S is one of the most popular canvases for skins. A piece that’ll appeal equally to collectors and to anyone who just loves the aesthetic of that era.

Glock-18 | Inversion

  • by BARBI

The core idea is to map a 2D level from a pixel game straight onto the body of the Glock-18. The pattern shifts depending on the seed value, so every copy of the skin shows a different slice of the game world. The black-and-white pixel-art map — complete with its own obstacles and a main character (a chicken) — comes out different on each one. Dynamic patterns like this are always valued in their own right, and they’re exactly what produces the rare collector combinations that hunters chase down — that one unique pattern unlike any other. Original, fresh, and built with collector value in mind.

Glock-18 | ZapTap

  • by Swanky

“It wasn’t plugged in to begin with.” A Glock styled as a retro console: a D-pad, A/B buttons, a Power switch, Start/Select and Insert Game labels — recognizable console-era classics in every detail. The author plays it for laughs: there’s a “Batteries Not Included” note tucked in the corner of the art, and the tagline hints the thing never turned on in the first place — this isn’t a working gadget but pure aesthetic and nostalgia for those very “boxes.” The theme is especially timely ahead of GTA 6: plenty of people are already eyeing a new console so they can be first into the most anticipated release. And once upon a time, we all started out on consoles exactly like these.

Desert Eagle | The Mythic One

  • by chackfree

Norse mythology in full glory: images of ancient legends are engraved across the steel parts of the body, and the grip is crafted from fine marble. The standout feature is Fenrir’s glowing eyes, set right where the front sight would be. In first-person view it looks especially striking — the wolf seems to stare straight out of the barrel. The mix of dark metal, marble, and northern ornamentation gives the piece a solid, “expensive” look — a Deagle with this much character definitely won’t get lost in your inventory.

AK-47 | Wind of Change

  • by VSKforeva

In our view, this is simply a work of art. The body is coated in matte black paint, and over it sits a portrait of a girl — eerie and strikingly beautiful at once — rendered in a realistic style. The marker-tagged polymer magazine is wrapped in blue duct tape, and the bomb code is stuck onto the stock so you’ll never forget it. Hundreds of tiny details and a wealth of Cyrillic lettering build a dense, living street story in the spirit of real street art. With Cache potentially returning (we’re really hoping to see that collection), an AK-47 like this would become especially relevant.

AK-47 | Apex Fossil

  • by Unmaker

A paleontological AK-47 with the skeleton of an ancient predator seemingly imprinted on it — bones, ribs, and a curved tail trailing onto the stock. The wear is handled in a pretty interesting way here, too: from Factory New to Battle-Scarred the finish turns ever more “red,” and for some, the worn version actually looks better than the clean one. The fossil theme echoes the Fossil aesthetic the community already loves, but it’s presented in its own way here — dark and stylish.
